AerCap Delivers First Boeing 777-300ERSF to Fly Meta

AerCap has announced the delivery of the first of three Boeing 777-300ERSF converted freighters to Hong Kong-based Fly Meta. The first aircraft was handed over on November 21, while the remaining two are scheduled to join the fleet in the second and fourth quarters of 2026. The aircraft will be operated by Air Atlanta Icelandic under a CMI agreement, flying for the Hungary Air brand.

Nicknamed the “Big Twin,” the Boeing 777-300ERSF became the first converted 777-300ER freighter to receive FAA and CAAI certifications on August 31, 2025. Rich Greener, Head of AerCap Cargo, highlighted that the new model offers up to 25% more capacity compared to existing twin-engine long-haul freighters, delivering significant efficiency benefits.

Fly Meta CEO Helen Chen said the delivery marks a major milestone in the company’s widebody cargo strategy, adding that the aircraft will help increase their capacity in global e-commerce and express cargo markets. Fly Meta aims to expand its long-haul network across Asia, Europe, the Middle East and Africa with widebody freighters including the 747-400F, 777-300ERSF, and A330-200F.
